India jobless rate swells above 23% amid coronavirus lockdown, survey shows
There was a significant fall in jobs and there is a simultaneous significant rise in unemployment in March 2020, according to CMIE, whose usual sample size for monthly estimates is more than 117,000 individuals. The govt publishes unemployment data every year. The last report, released in 2019, put the unemployment rate at a 45-year high of 6.1%.from Jobs-Economic Times https://ift.tt/2V80lmT
